Product description The TeraStation 24TB WSH5610DN 6-Bay NAS Server from Buffalo combines a high-performance NAS with 24TB of storage in a 6 x 4TB configuration, a hardware RAID controller, and the Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 (Standard Edition) operating system. Supported RAID modes include RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, and 10, each of which delivers performance, data redundancy, or a combination of both. For those who do not require a RAID, JBOD is also supported. The operating system, which integrates with computers and servers on existing networks to facilitate a user-friendly deployment, runs from a dedicated internal SSD, helping the system to operate with speed and efficiency, even when the hard drive array is engaged in taxing operations, such as RAID rebuilds.
The system is powered by a 2.41 GHz Intel Celeron J1800 Quad-Core processor with 4GB of DDR3 ECC RAM and operates using TeraStation's NAS System OS. Other integrated features include dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, one USB 3.0 Type-A port, two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, and compatibility with Windows & Mac OS. Power is provided by a universal internal power supply that runs using 100-240 VAC at 50/60 Hz. Included is a Cat5e network cable, a cable clump, a Windows Restore SD memory card, an AC cable, and front panel keys. Also included is a software utility CD with TeraNavigator, NASNavigator2, NovaBACKUP, and Adobe Reader. General Features - Speed and Stability with Hardware RAID
- The TeraStation WSH5610DN's dedicated RAID controller separates processes into two different CPUs. With one CPU running the OS and applications and the other for RAID rebuilding and I/O operations, the WSH5610DN runs faster and with greater reliability. Under heavy load operations, the WSH5610DN is able to maintain its performance.
With the TeraStation WSH5610DN's operating system completely located on an SSD drive of its own, each HDD is able to utilize space for user data. Without having to reinstall the OS for each RAID change, the dedicated SSD allows for faster boot times and more efficient operations. - TeraStation NAS System
- The TeraStation WSH5610DN runs on Buffalo's TeraStation NAS System, providing a host of business-class features from network file sharing and security to RAID management, remote access, and more. Managing data, backups, and data sharing in a production environment or larger business is made easy with this NAS operating system. Included on all Buffalo TeraStation devices, TeraStation NAS System helps simplify your everyday data needs.
- Data Protection & Backup
- The TeraStation WSH5610DN is bundled with eleven licenses of NovaBACKUP Buffalo Edition (one server and ten workstations), providing a complete, all-in-one data protection solution for Windows systems and Windows servers.
- Reliable & Secure Network Storage
- The TeraStation WSH5610DN offers a 24TB capacity and highly available storage accessible among multiple platforms for seamless centralized storage and backup. Create user and group profiles and control folder and file access to protect critical content and privacy.
- Multiple RAID Levels
- Support for multiple RAID levels helps provide data protection, increase fault tolerance, and data availability. RAID 0 combines all six drives into a single array, offering maximum storage capacity, but no data redundancy. RAID 1 uses three of the drives for storage and uses the other three as a mirror, which creates an exact copy of your data for purposes of redundancy. RAID 5 stripes the data across all six drives, interspersing parity data to provide an efficient blend of redundancy, performance, and storage capacity. RAID 6 also distributes the data across all six drives, but with double distributed parity, allowing up to two drives to fail without suffering any data loss. RAID 10 is a stripe of mirrors that provides redundancy by duplicating all data via mirroring, yet it also provides performance because data is striped across multiple disks. You will not lose any data with RAID 10, so long as two drives don't fail within the same mirrored pair.
- Remote File Access
- The TeraStation WSH5610DN offers multiple ways to remotely access and share your important data for enhanced collaboration and productivity. With WebAccess and FTP/SFTP servers, you can securely access and share files with anyone outside the local network. Trusted recipients can access selected files from virtually anywhere over the Internet and with WebAccess, files can also be accessed remotely from tablet and smartphone devices.
- Storage Virtualization
- Configure the TeraStation WSH5610DN as an iSCSI target to add affordable virtualized storage to your business network. Storage virtualization serves to decrease IT spending by maximizing the resources offered by modern servers while providing affordable server scalability and reliability. A virtualized environment removes a significant amount of server dependence, shifting the burden to the storage devices.
- Cloud Storage Backup
- Backup mission-critical data to a cloud provider compatible with Windows for offsite backup. Offsite backup adds an extra layer of protection against data loss due to environmental disasters or equipment failures at your primary location.
