Product description The CTX590 ProTone Wire Locator Kit from Byte Brothers is the combination of a ProTone Probe and a ProTone Generator, which supplies you with everything you need to locate wires. The ProTone Generator connects to RJ11, RJ45 and copper wire via built-in alligator clips, and can be used to send tone through the wire, as well as testing the lines for voltage, polarity and continuity. The ProTone Probe is used at the other end of the line to locate the tone being sent by the ProTone Generator. The probe features a built-in speaker and volume control, and is designed to filter out unwanted hum, so you can more clearly locate the tone being sent from the generator. - The insulated tip of the ProTone Probe features a bright LED that can be used as a flashlight, which is useful in poorly lit environments
- A red LED on the ProTone Probe alerts you when 60 Hz AC power is sensed
- A green LED on the ProTone Probe alerts you when the tone is detected, which is a useful visual cue when working in noisy environments
- A bicolor LED on the generator turns red when positive DC is detected, green when negative DC is detected, and alternates between red and green when AC is detected
