Product description The Cable Techniques MX-POWERSLED is designed for use with the Sound Devices MixPre-3 and MixPre-6 field recorders. It sports a Hirose 4-pin connector that attaches to the devices, supplying 7.2V to the recorder once it is connected, and accepting a DC input range of 9 to 24V from compatible, rechargeable batteries such as Li-ion NP-1 or smart batteries. As such, this device obviates the need for AA batteries and battery sleds, as well as the need for USB power. The former can often cost more money in the long run, while the latter doesn’t necessarily provide a secure enough connection for moving about in the field— obviously, no one wants to lose power in the middle of a shoot. Lightweight at 3.2 oz, the MX-POWERSLED can integrate into DC distribution systems, and can complement a bag rig replete with recorders, wireless receivers, and more, all powered by a single host. - Key Features at a Glance
