Product description The Cam Caddie Scorpion EX Starter Kit pairs the Scorpion EX, a versatile camera handle and stabilizer, with three basic accessories that allow you begin configuring the support system in a variety of ways. Included in this bundle is the Scorpion EX, an Accessory Shoe, an Accessory Wing, 1/4"-20 Flashner, and a Mounting Knob.
The Cam Caddie Scorpion EX is a versatile universal camera handle and stabilizer that allows you to maneuver compact cameras such as DSLRs, point-and-shoots, and action cameras the same way as you would a traditional video camcorder. The ergonomic handle is constructed from a lightweight composite and a custom formulated polymer grip, providing a stable and solid platform to comfortably hold and maneuver the camera. You can even mount a DSLR camera perpendicular to the top handle, which positions the back portion of the handle on the side of your camera for two-handed shooting.
For shoulder-mounted shooting, the feet of the Scorpion EX have standard 1/4"-20 threading, allowing you to attach an optional cheese plate. The cheese plate facilitates mounting to the tripods and the optional Scorpion EX Shoulder Support. The included Accessory Shoe attaches to the handle, allowing you to mount an optional accessory such as a recorder, microphone, LED light, or external monitor. Additional Accessory Shoes are available separately to expanded the system further.
The Accessory Wing is a 10" flat bar that is used with the Accessory Shoe to offer extra spacing on the camera support for mounting camera accessories or used with the Mounting Screw to connect to the base of the Scorpion. It can be mounted onto any 1/4"-20 thread or a tripod top plate to attach multiple accessories. You can also attach the wing directly to your camera's hot shoe using the the 1/4"-20 Flashner/Converter. The Flashner/Converter is also suitable for attaching any accessory with a 1/4"-20 threaded hole directly to a Scorpion Accessory Shoe or Accessory Wing. The bar also features an adjustable 1/4"-20 threaded plate which may be repositioned to offset the weight or size of an accessory. For those looking to mount the Accessory Wing to the top handle of their Scorpion rig, the Scorpion Accessory Shoe may be used in conjunction with the Accessory Wing for seamless compatibility.
