High-Density PF-04 Print Head
• Canon's PF-04 print head technology allows for print resolutions up to 2400 x 1200 dpi with fine lines accurate to ±0.1% and as thin as 0.79 mil. Also, the print head uses a nozzle orifice shape that minimizes mist spray for clean lines and text. The PF-04 also has a total of 15,360 nozzles and lays down 4 pl size droplets for fine detail.

Five-Color Reactive Ink Set
• Featuring four colorfast dye inks for vivid color and a pigmented matte black ink for precise lines, the reactive ink set included in the iPF780 printer is optimized for technical document printing. It also has a magenta ink that will produce a wider color gamut in the red and orange spectrums. These inks are also designed for excellent adhesion to the media and are scratch and marker resistant to ensure minimal bleeding between colors and text.
  
  Ink cartridges are also available in multiple sizes, 130 ml and 300 ml. These large tanks can be mixed and matched based on user preference and will lower cost per print.

High-Speed Printing
• Using Canon's L-COA (Large Format Printer COmmon Architecture) print controller to drive the print engine the iPF780 can produce an Arch D-size print in up to 780 seconds in Economy Mode. This mode regulates the use of ink to produce quick check plots for minimizing overall print costs. Also, there is a high-speed processor that can handle large volumes of data while optimizing output of high-color GIS images and architectural renderings.

Sub-Ink Tank System
• This sub-ink tank system uses all the the ink available in each cartridge to eliminate wasted ink. It also allows empty tanks to be replaced without stopping printing for long print jobs.

Direct Print & Share
• This software offers a cloud solution to users to upload documents using a WebDAV compliant service and print from nearly anywhere. It can work with PDF, TIFF, JPEG, and HP-GL/2 files and can batch print. Users can also set up hot folders on their desktop for shortcut printing and by dragging and dropping files the jobs will be created automatically. Each folder can be set up with different settings for faster operation.

imagePROGRAF Print Utility
• This mobile app from Canon allows for wireless printing via an Apple iPad. On the app users can preview PDFs, access basic setting seen the the printer driver, and send the print job to an imagePROGRAF printer connected to the same network. It is available for free on the Apple App Store.

Canon Printer Driver
• Available for Windows and Mac, this driver offers simplified page setup, one-touch borderless printing, expanded color settings, and many more options for users. A Real Preview feature allows users to check the print setting and layout of the paper and allows users to change after clicking on "print". A Free Layout feature enables neting and custom layout of images or files.
  
  The imageRUNNER Enlargement Copy features built into the driver allows users to transfer data from a Color imageRUNNER device with Universal Send to the imagePROGRAF printer with a simply touch of a button. Other features a preset document profiles, automatic print quality options, page nesting, Economy Print Mode, easy setting/advanced setting modes, and an optimized module for AutoCAD.

Status Monitor
• Allows users to check printer and consumable status and has an Ink Purchase Notification Function to let users know when an ink cartridge is running low. It can be setup to provide a prompt including a link to a website where the tank can be purchased or contact information for a supplier.

Accounting Manager
• Tracks the amounts of ink and media consumed during printing. Costs can be assigned to ink and paper to determine expenses based on cost of good and users can input a variable cost that can be added to the total. This data is exportable to .csv format for Microsoft Excel for billing purposes. Features include job cost, ink consumed per job, media consumed per job, job completion time, and more. Ink usage is estimated and error tolerance is ±15%.

PosterArtist Lite
• Included with this printer, this poster creation software allows users to quickly develop and create large-format prints. The program features four steps to create posters that can be used in a presentation, trade show, retail signage, and more.

Print Plug-In for Microsoft Office
• Appearing as a tool bar inside of Microsoft Office applications, this utility offers an easy-to-follow "Wizard" that simplifies printing large-format documents from Word, Excel, or PowerPoint. It bypasses the printer driver and will convert 8.5 x 11" documents to poster size.

Optimized Module for AutoCAD
• This specialized driver is compatible with a variety of AutoCAD software products and enables optimizes performance and productivity when working with imagePROGRAF printers. The module also shortens processing time to about 1/3 of the time associated with the Canon HDI driver. The module also has an interface that allows for layout, test printing, and 1200 dpi rendering. It is automatically loaded when printing from AutoCAD for a smooth workflow.
