Product description Capstan by Celemony is recording restoration software that digitally corrects wow and flutter in analog recording mediums such as tape, vinyl, cassettes, wax, and shellac. Wow and flutter are caused by mechanical inaccuracies in the medium or player that lead to variable and inconsistent playback speeds. The software uses elements of Celemony's Melodyne DNA algorithm to analyze the musical content and detect pitch anomalies within polyphonic material. It then corrects the anomalies by inverting the velocity curve in problematic sections to remove the effects of wow and flutter. You can operate the software in automatic mode or draw in the correct velocity curves manually to correct the pitch.
The program is hardware-independent and runs as a standalone application under Windows or Mac OS X 64-bit operating systems. It can handle all common audio formats (WAV, AIFF, SND, AUD, RIFF) up to 192 kHz sample rate with 16- to 32-bit depth, and the correction data obtained from processing a mono or stereo file can be applied to multi-channel and multi-track recordings.
