Product description B&H assembled this Celestron AstroMaster LT 80AZ 80mm f/11 Alt-Az Refractor Planetary Observing Kit to give amateur astronomers the tools they need to view the moon, Mars, and the other planets. The kit includes the telescope, a manual mount, an array of accessories, a sturdy tripod, a dedicated Mars observing filter, three other planetary eyepiece filters, and a multi-function Barlow lens. - Celestron AstroMaster LT 80AZ 80mm f/11 Alt-Az Refractor Telescope The AstroMaster LT 80AZ 80mm f/11 Alt-Az Refractor Telescope from Celestron is ideal for beginners or as a simple grab-and-go option for intermediates to observe Mars and other planets or the moon. It has a long focal length, and thus high magnification potential, and is intended to give users a complete rig that is easy to set up and use. Its manual alt-azimuth mount helps to reduce overall weight without sacrificing stability, and a control handle makes finding and tracking objects easier while reducing vibrations. Two eyepieces produce 36x and 90x magnifications, and a 90° erect-image prism not only puts the eyepieces in a comfortable viewing position but corrects the view to allow this astronomical scope to be used as a terrestrial spotting scope. An adjustable-height stainless steel tripod provides a stable platform for observing.

Assembled for the 2018 Mars Opposition, the filters in this kit can be used at any time to view and photograph other planets such as Saturn and Jupiter, as well as the moon. In addition to the three standard planetary filters, is the Mars observing filter, which combines the characteristics of red and blue filters to pass only the best wavelengths for viewing Mars.Also included with the filters is the universal Barlow lens. This versatile accessory effectively doubles the magnification of any eyepiece used in it without affecting the exit pupil or eye relief—allowing for high-power observations without the discomfort of using short focal length eyepieces.
