Product description Headphones and a phone or a laptop can be added to the HiFi-M8 Portable LX DAC (RSA) from CEntrance Inc. to have an audiophile listening experience. This professional-level listening device offers a combination of features, audio fidelity, choice, and flexibility. This unit supports Apple devices natively, extracts audio information digitally, and converts it to analog internally, for good sound quality. It combines clear audio quality, a long-lasting battery, a choice of digital inputs, and numerous sound-shaping features to create good sound. - Built Tough
- The HiFi-M8 Portable LX DAC is lightweight and durable. The body is laser-engraved and custom-styled, with the curves being smooth on the hand and easy on the eye. Extra scratch-protection and an elegant look is given by the anodized aluminum finish.
- Digital Inputs
- The HiFi-M8 device is a portable DAC/Amp with iPhone/iPad/iPod and USB inputs. It can be used with a computer and with an iPhone. When a switch is flipped, the 3-position power lever acts as a source selector.
- Portable
- The HiFi-M8 Portable LX DAC packs a powerful Lithium-polymer rechargeable battery for a high amount of power density, offering quick charge cycles and long play time between charges. 4 LED indicators provide a convenient way of vewing battery charge status.
- Dual Core
- This device uses a dual-core XMOS microprocessor to achieve the dual functionality of a USB DAC and an iPhone dock. It runs custom CEntrance code, supporting 24-bit/192 kHz, asynchronous USB audio.
- Driver Support
- This HiFi-M8 device supports up to 24-bit/192 kHz resolution with Macs and PCs. With Macs, no drivers are required. For Windows, CEntrance offers a free download of its Unversal Driver.
- Tone Shaping
- This device supports most headphones and offers high output level. The built-in gain, impedance, and tone-shaping switches allow for dialing the sound just right.
- Worldwide Use
- The HiFi-M8 Portable LX DAC is designed for real-world use. The included power supply works around the globe and provides rapid charging for the HiFi-M8 device and the attached Apple device. It accepts a wide range of voltages, from 9 to 20 V and can even be charged from a car or a boat.
- Digital Connection
- The HiFi-M8 device features robust, large-style USB jacks. These jacks will provide reliable service over a long time, and allow use of audiophile USB cables.
This device comes with a stylish, custom-made 30-pin cable for connection to iPhone 3/4/S as well as a USB cable for connection to laptops. - Additional Features
- Support for unbalanced or balanced headphones, IEMs, and overhead; choice of portable or desktop operation (battery or wall-powered); 3 levels of output impedance for enhanced headphone linearity; 3 levels of headphone gain for headphone sensitivity matching; 3 levels of bass sonic shaping for matching to various headphones; 3 levels of treble sonic shaping for matching to various headphones; ability to charge the phone/tablet off the power adapter while playing.
