Product description The Germanium Tone Control by Chandler Limited uses both active and passive EQ circuitry along with the Germanium amplifier to deliver an extremely versatile yet musical EQ with an overall fat and smooth tone. All bands feature inductor based circuits and the low frequency section has selectable Pultec and Lang interactive curves or a standard low frequency pass filter. The upper frequency section features active treble and presence bands which are designed to emulate the classic British EQs from the past. When you start to tweak the different features of the unit together, such as dialing in some drive and feedback along with some presence, you really start to hear what sets the Germanium Tone Control apart from the rest. No matter what settings you use, the overall sound quality can be described as warm and fat. Whether you use it to fatten up a drum track, or add some harmonic distortion to a guitar, you will really appreciate the flexibility and musicality of the Germanium Tone Control, especially at a price which won't break the bank. - Multiple Circuits are Utilized for Maximum Sonic Flexibility

- You can choose between Pultec and Lang interactive curves for the most unique results and use the low pass filter for more standard applications.

- Interactive EQ Curve Using Boost and Cut
- Choose Interactive mode and the boost/cut will affect the audio simultaneously, resulting in the most interesting combinations and curves. If your needs are more standard, then choose Independent mode and the cut will take precedence, which is the way most EQs operate.
- Tuned Frequency Cut Selections
- The Cut section of the Germanium Tone Control has specific tunings for use in either Interactive mode, or Independent mode. The Independent tunings include 20, 30, 40, and 60hz options for frequency cuts and the curve applied is a sharp 18dB per octave. These tunings can effectively remove mud and rumble from vocals or acoustic guitars. The Interactive cut settings are broad shelf type curves and include 150, 200, 240, and 320hz.
- Presence Section is Designed to Sound like British Console EQs
- Each frequency is tuned with a specific Q to maximize its usefulness where it normally would be applied. For example, 300, 500, and 800hz have a sharper Q to help remove muddy mid range areas, while 4100, 6200, and 8300hz have a wide Q for brightening.
- Tweak Multiple Features for the Most Musical Results
- The Germanium Tone Control really starts to show its true potential when you combine the different features such as drive, feedback, and presence. Warm harmonic distortion, fattening of instrument tracks, or convincing British Console EQ sounds are just some of the applications you can use the Germanium Tone Control for.
