Product description The Chandler TG Microphone is a solid-state, large diaphragm condenser that works well on guitars, vocals, drums, and more. The microphone is not a clone of any famous or vintage model but rather a design all its own, one featuring a built-in equalizer that models the tape EQs found on the EMI desks of old. Indeed, this tape equalizer is adapted from the NAB/IEC tape EQ found on the TG12410 transfer console. While historically, this EQ was utilized to compensate for different-sounding tape standards, the mic's variant allows you to shape the sound coming into the microphone in and helps eliminate the need for additional equalization downstream. The microphone's low-cut filter combined with the tape equalizer give you the ability to choose among multiple tonal variations. This is not a tube microphone. But, like a tube microphone, this LDC relies on a dedicated power supply instead of 48V phantom power. This design contributes to the TG Microphone's sonic heft. The microphone can be set to omnidirectional or cardioid polar patterns. A -10 dB pad is on hand to handle the most troublesome of instruments. A 25' 4-pin mic cable is included along with a wooden case. - Dual Tone System
- The mic sports a tone system that modifies the input stage to accommodate a large array of sources. System A is mid forward, while the alternate B voicing is more pristine, takes extreme SPL, and can compete in any situation where you might traditionally use an FET 47 mic.
