Product description This Cokin Z-Pro Series Graduated Neutral Density Filter Kit contains three filters that can be used individually or in various combinations to improve the results of your landscape photography by preventing overexposure in specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image.
The included filters consist of 100 x 150mm graduated neutral density filters that reduce the amount of light entering a lens by up to one, two, and three stops, respectively. Additionally, the one and two-stop graduated neutral density filters feature a hard-edged line of transition between their dense and clear areas while the three-stop graduated neutral density filter has a soft-edged line of transition.
A graduated neutral density filter with a hard-edged line of transition is useful for images which include defined horizon lines, while a graduated neutral density filter with a soft-edged line of transition is able to filter the sky while minimizing its effect on the land. A soft-edged line of transition is particularly useful where the transition between sky and foreground is indeterminate, such as images featuring mist, fog, or the tops of trees. Together, these filters provide a versatile solution for various lighting conditions and horizon lines.
To allow these filters to be placed in front of a lens, this kit contains a filter holder for rectangular filters that are 100mm wide and 1.6mm thick. To connect the filter holder to a lens's front filter threads, a separately available Cokin Z-Pro Series lens adapter ring is required. For cleaning and maintenance of each filter which is made of durable, optical resin (CR39) and measures 1.6mm thick, a microfiber cloth is also included. - Z-Pro Series Filter Holder The Cokin Z-Pro Series Filter Holder is designed to accommodate multiple Cokin Z-Pro Series Filters in order to help create the shot you envision. It can hold up to two rectangular filters, or two rectangular filters and one round filter such as a rotating circular polarizer, for the Cokin Z-Pro Series Filter Holders.
Rectangular Cokin Z-Pro Series Filters are 100mm-wide and 1.6mm-thick. A Cokin Z-Pro Series Filter Holder Adapter Ring can be used to connect this filter holder to the front of a lens. It helps to darken specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a hard-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas. A neutral density filter with a hard-edged line of transition is useful for images which include defined horizon lines. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and this filter provides up to a 1-stop reduction in light from entering a lens.
This filter is made of durable, optical resin (CR39) and measures 1.6mm thick. -
