Use this interactive training CD-ROM to work your way through a basic production from start to finish as you quickly get down to the business of producing a song with GarageBand. Sit back and watch a DAW pro show you the ins and outs and then switch over to GarageBand and try it yourself. Use the quizzing feature to test your skills along the way! About the Author: Dave Egan's 25 years of experience in media production began as a guitar player and singer. Always tinkering with sound recording equipment, he found his real calling in the recording studio, and subsequently began his career in audio recording and production. Credits in music recording include working for such legends as Kenny Rogers, Donny Osmond, Ted Nugent, and the band Kiss. Credits in audio for radio/TV include Oldsmobile, Dave Thomas for Wendy's, Jack Hanna, and Bill Moyers for PBS. Film credits include working on the soundtrack for the motion picture, "Lean On Me". Dave's B.A. in Developmental Psychology comes in handy when dealing with artists, and has lectured on various topics of media production at The Ohio State University, The Recording Workshop, and Full Sail Center for the Media Arts. Colin MacQueen is a musician, composer, technical writer, sound designer and virtual audio engineer. He has been involved with the music and video industries for years, both in production and as a live performer, as a Digidesign distributor in Spain and as an educator on digital audio-related topics. Colin co-authored Pro Tools Power! and Digital Audio Dictionary and wrote and produced all the movie tutorials for the interactive CD-ROMs: CSi Starter Pro Tools and CSi Starter Cubase SX2 and the IK Multimedia movie tutorials on CSi volume. He was a contributing writer or editor on other CD-ROM volumes in the CSi series. In addition, he has served as an independent composer, producer and sound designer for many interactive CD-ROM titles. Colin is a freelance writer on digital audio topics and has taught digital audio courses at both the university level and at broadcast schools. - Includes approximately 2 to 3 hours of movie tutorials
