Illustration Tools
• Adds levels of detail to technical illustrations with projected shape tools, including Thread, Well, Cylinder, and Prism tools. You can draw thread and well shapes in projected space for the creation of bolts, nuts and more. The projected dimension tools also let you measure objects and distances in the projected space.

Drawing Scale Control
• Create your illustrations and diagrams in accurate scale with the drawing scale control. View the active drawing scale, switch to another preset, or set a custom scale at any time. In addition, Corel DESIGNER X6 maintains the drawing scale when importing a vector illustration from a 3D model view, so that imported views can be placed at a precise scale.

Multi-Core Processor and Native 64-Bit Support
• Enjoy the speed of multi-core processing power, true native 64-bit Windows 7 and Windows 8 applications. The enhanced speed allows you to process larger files and images. In addition, your system is more responsive when you run several applications simultaneously.

Object Styles
• Apply a consistent look throughout your projects with object styles, color styles and color harmonies. The object styles docker centralizes style creation and management with everything you need in one place, including outline, fill, hatches, dimension, callouts, halos, character, text frame and color styles. Group your favorite styles together in Style Sets to format many objects at once.

3D Import and Visualization Tools
• Add context to your technical projects by using 3D views and models in your illustrations. With the integrated XVL Studio 3D, you can create high-quality renderings from 3D views, imported from DWG, 3DS, VRML and XVL files. You can also use the Insert 3D functionality to embed 3D models, as editable 3D elements with high-resolution preview.

CorelDRAW X6
• Work on a wide range of graphics projects with the included CorelDRAW X6. This graphics design software gives you vector illustration and page-layout tools for completing complementary tasks.

Insert 3D Models with XVL Player
• You can use the Insert 3D functionality in XVL Player to embed 3D models as 3D elements into your projects. Specifies views, scale, and rendering mode to add context to your technical illustration. When you import vector illustrations from 3D model views, the drawing scale is maintained and imported views are placed at the scale. Publish technical illustrations including a high-resolution image of the selected 3D view. With integrated XVL Studio 3D, you can also open XVL files for further editing.

Drawing Scale Control from Toolbar
• Manipulate the drawing scale from the toolbar at any time for technical illustrations. Identify the active drawing scale, switch to any drawing scale preset, or set a custom drawing scale for the active document. You do not need to open a dialog box, because you will always know the actual drawing scale because it's displayed in the UI.

Alignment Guides
• The alignment guides help you position objects with suggested alignments to the existing elements on your page. The temporary guidelines appear when you create, resize, or move objects in relation to the center, or edges of the other nearby objects. In addition, the guides interactively connect the centers and the edges of objects.

Revised Styles Engine and Docker
• The object styles docker simplifies the creation, application, and management of the styles for graphical shapes, including symbols, callouts and dimensioning. The Style Sets apply consistent formatting across multiple objects, produce iterative versions, and implement formatting with speed and consistency.

Color Styles and Harmonies
• Create a Color Style out of the colors used in a document, to save time when implementing a color change throughout a project. When you create a Color Style, you are able to modify colors collectively for speed and consistency. Group a document's color styles together into a Harmony, to produce recurring designs with varying color schemes.

Master Layers
• Create page-specific designs for your multi-page documents with the Master Layers. It's easier to incorporate page-specific headers, footers and page numbers into your technical communication documents.

Page Numbering
• Instantly add page numbers on all pages of a document, starting on a specific page, or start with a particular number. The numbers are automatically updated when you add or delete pages in your document. This flexibility is suitable when you work with multiple files that will eventually become a single publication.

Automated SVG Export
• Corel DESIGNER X6 can publish SVG, the HTML 5 supported vector graphics file format for online publication of scalable graphics. Publishing to SVG can be fully automated as a background task, enabling advanced integration with technical authoring systems, and any content management system.

Complex Script Support
• An overhauled text engine offers a built-in complex script support to ensure proper typesetting, for glyphs used by Asian and Middle Eastern languages. This is useful for multilingual technical documentation and localized technical illustrations with text.

Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications 7.1
• Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications (VSTA 2.0) allow you to create macros and add-ins. Native 64-bit support for Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA 7.1), is also included to perform simple customization tasks. Create connections to Content Management Systems (CMS), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Product Data Management (PDM) Systems.

Interactive Callouts
• Callouts are commonly used as hotspots that link to additional data. You can apply hotspots manually to complete callout objects, including leader line, text and surrounding halo to make the entire callout interactive. This capability is useful when you publish your projects to CGM or SVG.

Image Editing with Corel PHOTO-PAINT X6
• Designed to complement Corel DESIGNER and CorelDRAW, Corel PHOTO-PAINT X6 lets you edit images and cut out unwanted objects using the SmartCarver tool. In addition, non-destructive editing tools like, Clip Mask and Pass Through Merge Mode in layered bitmaps, help create clearly understandable images, for visual technical communication.

Formatting
• The Object Properties docker gives object-dependent formatting options, to help you refine your designs in less time. Also, the alignment guides allow you to position objects efficiently. The guides appear on the fly with suggested alignments to the existing elements on your page.

Streamlined Callout Creation
• Track essential design details and key information with callout tools. The sticky callouts will connect or "stick" to source objects, as they are moved around or modified. You can also link callout text to source shape metadata. Callouts based on object metadata, help you implement updates and changes, efficiently and consistently.

Industry Standards Compliance and File Compatibility
• Create and deliver standardized technical documentation with support for leading formats, including WebCGM (with S1000D profile support) for Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM), and Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPC) creation. Exchanging files is hassle free, as it supports more than 100 file formats, including SVG, CGM, PDF and Adobe CS6 (AI, PSD).

Easy Access to Design Assets
• Find images on your local network and search online portals and websites. You can use the built-in content assistant Corel CONNECT to access your content. Organize assets by type or project in trays that are shared between Corel DESIGNER, CorelDRAW, Corel PHOTO-PAINT and Corel CONNECT for maximum efficiency.

Dimension Tools
• Display precise measurement values in build plans and more with dimension tools, including radial and diameter dimensioning. With the projected dimension options, the projected drawings can be efficiently documented with dimension lines and text. This eliminates the need to draw and project dimension objects in multiple steps.

Streamlined Graphical Transformations
• Use the transformation docker to apply transformations quickly. Move, copy, rotate, resize or scale, mirror, and project graphical objects using coordinates, with support for onscreen selection or measurement, and application of the changes on the go.

Halos on Curves Applied as a Style
• Halos help ensure that your illustrations are interpreted and understood. Apply halos to the connector lines that cross over each other, to make wiring diagrams and flowcharts easier to read. You can also use halos to highlight the axes of an exploded view with thrust lines. With the new Object Styles docker, you can save halos as a part of a preset line style to reuse them easily throughout complex projects.

File Format Support and Industry Standard Compliance
• Create, share, and deliver standardized technical documentation with support for over 100 formats, including AutoCAD DWG and DXF, Microsoft Visio (VSD), WebCGM and S1000D, Microsoft Publisher 2010, SVG, DOCX, EPS, TIFF, PDF and more. CorelDRAW Technical Suite X6 also offers enhanced support for Adobe products, including Adobe CS6 (PSD, AI) and Adobe Acrobat X.

Corel PowerTRACE X6
• Convert scanned bitmaps, such as circuit design blueprints, schematics, hand-drawn illustrations and more, into editable vector graphics with smoother curves and better accuracy.

Projected Drawing Modes
