Product description The HostEngine 4RU Rackmount Series Workstation from Cubix provides users with four PCIe Gen 3.0 x16 expansion slots, each of which can accommodate a full-height, full-length, double-wide GPU, for a total of four GPUs, or a half-height, half-length controller, such as the Cubix Host Interface Controller (HIC) that connects to Cubix Xpander products. Each HIC connects to multiple slots within an Xpander Rackmount 8 or other Xpander product.
By connecting HostEngine to GPU-Xpander Rackmount 8, you can add eight double-wide GPUs such as the NVIDIA Quadro M5000 or M6000 for running DaVinci Resolve, Autodesk 3ds Max, or Bunkspeed Shot with NVIDIA iray. Connecting to an Xpander Rackmount 8 also enables you to connect to GPU Compute Engines such as NVIDIA or AMD GPUs for HPC applications, virtual desktop projects, or multiple Intel Xeon Phi co-processors for parallel processing.
This system is armed with dual 3.1 GHz Intel Xeon 2687W processors armed with 8 cores on each CPU, for a total of 16 cores. There is also 20MB of Intel Smart Cache per processor, for a total of 40MB. These processors, cores, and cache will allow you to run multiple applications simultaneously and provide significant performance gains when running multi-threaded tasks. If you need more power, the CPU can deliver extra performance by increasing the clock speed up to 3.8 GHz utilizing Intel's Turbo Boost 2.0 technology.
The 64GB of 2133 MHz DDR4 ECC Registered RAM allows the computer to run multiple applications simultaneously and also to quickly access frequently-used files and programs. The current 64GB memory configuration is made up of 8 x 8GB modules and may be upgraded to 2TB. As this RAM features ECC technology, it is able to help detect and correct the most common kinds of internal data corruption. This RAM is also registered, and registered memory modules, also known as buffered memory modules, place less electrical load on the memory controller and allow single systems to remain stable with more memory modules than they would have otherwise.
For long-term storage of your files, this system is equipped with a 500GB SATA III SSD, which allows quick access to your data. Other integrated features include a SuperMulti DVD Burner, two PCIe 3.0 x8 slots, one PCIe 2.0 x4 slot, dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, one Ethernet management port, two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, one DB-9 serial port, a 500W power supply, and more. The installed operating system is Linux CentOS and included are power cords and cables. Protection is provided by a limited 2-year warranty.
