Product description The Cubix Xpander Rack Mount 8 6U Gen 3 is a rack-mount PCIe (PCI Express) expansion enclosure that enables connection of up to 8 double-wide graphics or other controllers with rear- or top-connected auxiliary power cables to one or two host computers. The Rack Mount 8 6U RP provides two MIBs (Main Interface Boards). Each MIB connects via a PCIe x16 cable to a HIC (Host Interface Controller) in a host computer. You can connect both MIBs to HICs in one computer or each MIB to a HIC in separate host computers. The host computer must have one or two PCIe x16 slots (preferably PCIe Gen 3.0) available for the HICs. Each MIB features four PCIe x16 slots to support a total of eight double-wide GPUs for use with high-performance computing (HPC) and other CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture) or OpenCL / OpenGL-enabled tasks. The Rack Mount 8 6U RP supports double-wide GPUs with active cooling like NVIDIA Quadro or GeForce GTX Series (GTX TITAN X or GTX 980Ti), as well as AMD Firepro W9100. With eight Intel Xeon Phi coprocessors equipped with active cooling, the Rack Mount 8 6U RP supports parallel processing applications. It also supports other PCIe adapters with multiple input / output ports such as FireWire, USB 3.0, or high-definition (HD) audio.
