Product description The Xpander Rackmount 16 5U Gen 2 PCIe Expansion Enclosure from Cubix provides four Main Interface Boards (MIBs), each connected to a host with a PCIe x16 cable and four PCIe x16 slots for a total of 16 single-slot GPUs or 8 double-slot GPUs with top-connected auxiliary power cables. The host must have at least one PCIe x16 expansion slot available for the Host Interface Controller (HIC). Connect each MIB to one of four HICs in one host or each MIB to a HIC in each of four host computers. Each MIB inside the Rackmount 16 enclosure connects to one HIC in one host computer.One host computer can support all MIBs inside the Rackmount 16 enclosure if the host has fourPCIe x16 slots available. Rackmount 16 provides a set of four PCIe Generation 2 (Gen 2) x16 slots for Graphical Processing Units (GPUs), which you can use for graphical-rendering, for high performance computing (HPC) and other Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA) enabled tasks. Xpander Rackmount 16 can also support PCIe connected solid-state drives (SSDs) or other PCIe adapters with multiple Input/Output (I/O) ports, including FireWire, USB 2.0, and high-definition (HD) audio. - Four PCIe Gen 2 x16 expansion slots that support dual-slot and single-slot cards per Main Interface Board
- Four Main Interface Boards per 5RU rackmount Xpander provide 16 total slots
- An independent power supply per Main Interface Board with temperature-controlled cooling fans
- It has a straightforward installation, as you can install a HIC in the host and drivers for devices in Xpander
- Front-panel management LCD monitors power, temperature, fans, and link and slot status
