Product description The external XPRM-G3-82A 19" 5U Gen3 GPU-Xpander Rackmount 8 is a PCIe expansion chassis that can support one/two server connections with up to eight discrete, dual slot graphics or GPU cards per system. This enables parallel calculations separate from the server, enhanced system reliability, performance, and flexibility. This rackmount features two main boards with four slots each for a total of eight PCIe Gen 3 x16 slots, spaced double-wide. Each main board with four slots connects to a host interface controller (HIC) installed in a host computer, so the number of slots per HIC is four, but each Xpander connects to two HICs, so each Xpander provides a total of eight slots. - Install GPUs for fast hardware acceleration purposes, as well as other types of third party I/O controllers
- Eight PCIe Gen 3 x16 expansion slots (all supporting both dual slot and single slot cards) per system
- Two 4-slot Main Interface Boards per 5U, 19" rackmount system
- Two independent power supplies and multiple cooling fans to meet expansion requirements (per Main Interface Board)
- Simple, quick installation with minimal impact per rackmount computer; install a HIC (Host Interface Controller) and drivers for installation devices in the GPU-Xpander
- Each x16 cable and connector provides a 250 mating duty cycle
- Enhances server I/O infrastructure capabilities without adding servers
- Hardware-acceleration using NVIDIA graphics and GPU cards for faster VDI and thin-client multimedia performance
- Uses 5U vertical rack space, supports up to 8 dual-slot NVIDIA Quadro graphics cards, Tesla GPUs, Blackmagic Design Decklink HD Extreme 3D, or other complimentary PCIe-based I/O adapters
- Save space, weight, and cost while increasing I/O card density
