Product description The 11-string set of NYXL1270PS Nickel Wound Custom Medium Pedal Steel Strings from D'Addario features a break-resistant, high-carbon steel core and plain steel alloy strings designed to deliver freedom, confidence, and power. The reformulated nickel-plated string windings have greater magnetic properties resulting in higher output and enhanced midrange frequency response for more presence and crunch. These strings provide more strength and up to 131% greater tuning stability by utilizing a wire drawing process coupled with a "fusion twist" process for the plain steels. The set has plain steel for the first five treble strings, while the wound bass strings are made from a combination of nickel wound wrapped around a high-carbon steel core. The extra .017 gauge plain steel string is coiled individually for use as an alternate first position tuned to D. - D'Addario's exclusive New York-manufactured, break-resistant, high-carbon steel alloy for increased strength
