Product description Add wireless connectivity to your corporate network with the DAP-2660 AC1200 Wireless Dual-Band Access Point with PoE from D-Link. Supporting the Wi-Fi 5 wireless standard, this dual-band access point is capable of up to 1,167 Mb/s total throughput, and it's equipped with a Gigabit Ethernet port with PoE (Power over Ethernet), ideal for transmitting data and powering the device over a single cable. The wall- and ceiling-mountable DAP-2660 access point supports such features as band steering, which directs wireless devices to the most appropriate Wi-Fi frequency band; airtime fairness, which helps to optimize network performance by allotting the same amount of wireless time to both high- and low-bandwidth devices; and load balancing, which limits the total number of wireless clients per access point. The access point also comes with a built-in captive portal, handy for authenticating guests, enabling billing, and displaying the network's terms-of-use notice. - Security Features
- To help maintain a secure wireless network, the DAP-2660 supports both Personal and Enterprise versions of WPA and WPA2 (802.11i), with support for RADIUS server backend and a built-in internal RADIUS server that allows users to create accounts within the device itself. The access point also includes MAC address filtering, wireless LAN segmentation, SSID broadcast disable, rogue AP detection, and wireless broadcast scheduling. The DAP-2660 includes support for up to eight VLANs per band, ideal for implementing multiple SSIDs to further segment users on the network. It also includes a wireless client isolation mechanism, which limits direct client-to-client communication. Support for Network Access Protection (NAP) allows network administrators to define multiple levels of network access based on individual client's need. Other security features include ARP spoofing prevention and WLAN partitioning.
- Multiple Operation Modes
- The DAP-2660 supports a variety of operational modes, including access point, wireless distribution system (WDS) with access point, WDS/bridge, and wireless client modes. Another option is Auto RF Management mode, which avoids RF interference and optimizes the output power performance.
- Network Management
- Network administrators have multiple options for managing the DAP-2660, including web (HTTP), Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), which provides for a secure connection to the Internet, Secure Shell (SSH), which provides for a secure channel between local and remote computers, and Telnet. The access point also has a power-saving wireless scheduling feature, which turns off wireless functionality when it isn't needed. Support for traffic control, SNMP, and AP array are also included.
- Additional Features
- LED indicator (can be disabled)
