Product description The High-Security High-Capacity Shredder from Dahle meets the National Security Agency's specifications for secure disposal of top-secret documents by military, federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as by department of defense contractors. With a capacity of up to 18 sheets per pass, this shredder reduces paper into consistently-fine 0.04 x 0.19" cross-cut particles in conformance with security level P-7 standards. The opening is 16" wide and accommodates both letter- and legal-size sheets.
This high-security shredder includes a number of electronic capabilities designed to maximize safety and convenience. The shredder engages automatically when paper is inserted into the feed opening and stops once the paper has passed completely through the shredding mechanism. It shuts off automatically when the waste drawer is full, so you know it is time to empty the box or change the bag. The machine also shuts off automatically when the cabinet door is opened to prevent accidents, and the cylinders reverse when they are over-fed to prevent jamming.
This shredder is equipped with a 4-liter automatic oiler, which provides slow, continuous lubrication across the entire cutting mechanism; reducing wear on the precision milled cutting cylinders, and maintaining the shredder at its peak capacity and performance. The shredding mechanism is rubber shock-mounted to isolate the wooden cabinet from vibration and ensure quiet operation. Designed to be moved easily within your office, the wooden cabinet has four rolling casters. - Approved by the NSA for the destruction of top-secret data under NSA/CSS specification 02-01 standards
