Product description As its name implies, the 4Q Smart Mechanical Keyboard from Das Keyboard is a cloud-connected device designed to improve your productivity. With the Q-Software, you'll be able to customize its RGB lighting as well as create your own color-coded, notification-based alerts that are displayed right on the keyboard, supporting up to 16.8 million colors. This means that instead of checking your phone for social media alerts, weather updates, stocks status, and more, you can simply look down at your keyboard. Aside from these smart features, the 4Q is built with Cherry MX Brown RGB switches, which provide you with a soft tactile typing experience. For your convenience, it has a built-in, two-port USB 2.0 hub as well as dedicated media controls. Included with the 4Q is a footbar that raises the keyboard and also doubles as a ruler. - Cherry MX Brown
- Mechanical keyboards utilize a different type of key switch technology for a more durable and unique typing experience. The Cherry MX Brown switch has an actuation force of 45 g and offers a small tactile bump when pressed, letting you know that the key has registered. This can be useful for typing or preparing for a movement while gaming. Unlike Cherry MX Blue switches, these do not have an audible "click" mechanism, allowing for a quieter operation. Noise generated from this keyboard will be from the key either springing back into place or "bottoming out" – making contact with the back plate after a particularly hard press.
- Q-Software
- Aside from controlling the keyboard's RGB lighting, the Q-Software is also built to connect with IFTTT and Zapier. This lets you set up custom color-coded notifications that are displayed right on the keyboard. For example, you can set up four-day weather forecasting, monitor CPU activity, track stocks in real time, receive social media alerts, and much more.
- Dedicated Media Controls, Q Button & Volume Knob
- Easily adjust your media settings with the dedicated controls and volume knob. For everything else, you can use the Q Button to access your 12 customizable function keys to quickly and accurately execute complicated multi-key commands.
- Two-Port USB 2.0 Type-A Hub
- The 4Q keyboard requires two USB ports for full functionality. One USB 3.0 port is required for enhanced brightness mode while a second USB 2.0 port lets you use its built-in two-port USB hub.
- Anodized Top Plate
- The top plate of the 4Q keyboard is made of anodized aluminum, which makes it lightweight and durable.
- Anti-Ghosting & N-Key Rollover
- Anti-ghosting and N-key rollover ensures that your commands are precisely and accurately recognized, regardless of how fast, complicated, or the number of simultaneous key inputs.
- Android & iOS Q Apps
- When you're not at your desk, you can also download the optional Android and iOS Q Apps to receive Q smart notifications.
- Footbar Ruler
- The included Footbar raises the keyboard for a more comfortable typing angle and also doubles as a ruler.
