Product description - Definitive Technology ⿿ The BP9000 Series
Expand your soundstage with the Definitive Technology BP9040 Floorstanding Speaker. It features a built-in 8" powered woofer for enhanced bass, plus a rear 4.5" midrange driver to provide a broader field of sound than would normally be produced by the two forward-facing 4.5" midrange drivers, 1" aluminum dome tweeter, and two 8" bass radiators. The speaker will accept 50 to 300W from your amplifier via its binding post inputs and has a dedicated input and proprietary output connector for an optional height speaker. - BDSS – Balanced Double Surround System
- BDSS is designed to increase driver excursion, resulting in a bass output usually associated with a larger driver while retaining the enhanced dispersion and midrange definition of a smaller driver.
- Forward-Focused Bipolar Array (FFBP)
- The Forward-Focused Bipolar Array is fashioned to offer enhanced balance between room-filling sound and a precise center image, while giving you placement flexibility.
- Aluminum Dome Tweeters
- The tweeters are designed to play higher in frequency than what is heard by the human ear, helping to create an authentic reproduction of sound as the artist intends in the studio or concert hall.
- Inert, Resonance-Free Cabinet
- Enhanced rigidity with strategically placed bracing helps improve imaging while reducing resonance, further reinforcing a clean and powerful sound.
- Integrated Powered Woofer and Dual Bass Radiators
- The integrated powered woofer matched with two bass radiators of the same size are designed to offer deeper, more impactful bass from the tower speaker without the need to add a separate subwoofer.
- Dolby Atmos Certified & DTS:X Compatible
- There's a hidden connector port that fits the optional Definitive Technology A90 speaker module virtually seamlessly. Simply remove the magnetically sealed, acoustically treated aluminum top panel from the speaker and firmly align and place the A90 elevation speaker module within the top of your floorstanding speaker to hear multi-dimensional sound (requires a Dolby Atmos/DTS:X-enabled receiver and Dolby Atmos/DTS:X-encoded source material).
- Intelligent Bass Control
- Intelligent Bass Control is designed to give you the ability to modulate deep bass up or down in level while simultaneously maintaining mid-range tonal balance.
- Cast Aluminum Base with Spikes and Floor Glides
- The wide footprint of the base is designed to increase the overall stability of the speaker, while the addition of spikes or floor glides helps keep your speakers firmly in place whether on carpet or other solid floor surfaces like hardwood or cement.
- LED-Backlit Definitive Technology Logo
- To highlight the integrated powered subwoofer and show that your speaker is receiving a signal, an LED logo is positioned on its bottom front panel. Turn it on or off at your leisure, or it will automatically turn off/standby after 20 minutes without an active signal.
- Acoustically Transparent Grille
- The acoustically transparent speaker grille allows you to enjoy your audio in the same quality whether it's on or off.
