Product description - Definitive Technology ⿿ The BP9000 Series
Expand your soundstage with the Definitive Technology BP9080x Floorstanding Speaker. It features a built-in 12" powered woofer for enhanced bass, plus a rear 5.25" midrange driver to provide a broader field of sound than would normally be produced by the two forward-facing 5.25" midrange drivers, 1" aluminum dome tweeter, and two 12" bass radiators. The BP9080x also sports an integrated upward-firing Atmos speaker with a 1" tweeter and 5.25" midrange. The speaker will accept 50 to 300W from the amplifier via its binding post inputs. - Forward-Focused Bipolar Array (FFBP)
- The Forward-Focused Bipolar Array is fashioned to offer enhanced balance between room-filling sound and a precise center image, while giving you placement flexibility.
- Integrated 12" Powered Woofer and Dual Bass Radiators
- The integrated powered woofer matched with two bass radiator of the same size are designed to offer deeper, more impactful bass from the tower speaker without the need to add a separate subwoofer.
- Dolby Atmos Certified & DTS:X Compatible
- There's an integrated two-way height speaker module in the top of the BP9080x, allowing you to hear multi-dimensional sound (requires a Dolby Atmos/DTS:X-enabled receiver and Dolby Atmos/DTS:X-encoded source material).
- Intelligent Bass Control
- Intelligent Bass Control is designed to give you the ability to modulate deep bass up or down in level while simultaneously maintaining mid-range tonal balance.
- Aluminum Dome Tweeters
- The tweeters are designed to play higher in frequency than what is heard by the human ear, helping to create an authentic reproduction of sound as the artist intends in the studio or concert hall.
- BDSS – Balanced Double Surround System
- The BDSS is designed to enhance driver excursion to produce bass output typically associated with a larger driver while retaining the dispersion and midrange definition of a smaller driver.
