Product description Enhance the audio from your 50" or larger flat-panel TV with the black Mythos Ten 2-Way Loudspeaker from Definitive Technology. Designed to hang next to your screen, this speaker packs two high-definition BDSS 5.25" drivers pressure-coupled to two 5 x 8" planar low-bass radiators, plus a 1" ceramic-coated pure aluminum dome tweeter, all in a compact, elongated enclosure. The speaker's hand-polished gloss aircraft-grade extruded aluminum enclosure uses various damping technologies to ensure rigidity and sound accuracy. Included is a steel bracket for mounting the Mythos Ten vertically or horizontally on a wall. - Mythos Series Performance for Large Flat-Panel TVs
- The Mythos Ten is an on-wall speaker designed to complement your 50" or larger HDTV and perform as a main- (left/right) or center-channel speaker. It can serve as a center-channel complement to the Mythos ST SuperTowers (available separately).
- Woofer System
- The Mythos Ten incorporates two high-definition BDSS (Balanced Double Surround System) 5.25" drivers that are pressure-coupled to two 5 x 8" racetrack-shaped planar low-bass radiators. The result is bass extension down to 31 Hz and a power handling capacity of up to 300W. The bass roll-off of the Mythos Ten is smooth and controlled, allowing it to blend seamlessly with a powered subwoofer (available separately).
- Midrange Drivers
- The two BDSS 5.25" drivers surround a 1" dome tweeter, which is housed in a sealed, acoustically isolated enclosure. The drivers support the speaker cone at both the inner and outer edges for longer & more linear excursion, greater clarity, and finely textured detail. The driver baskets are die-cast aluminum.
- Tweeter
- The pure aluminum dome tweeter is heat-treated to relax the crystal structure and then coated with ceramic to deliver extended highs that reveal nuance and shimmer—without edginess.
- Solid Enclosure
- Mythos Series enclosures are hand-polished gloss black aircraft-grade extruded aluminum. All components are mounted on a resonance-free PolyStone baffle.
- Versatility
- The included wall-mount bracket allows direct mounting to a wall and also adapts to flat-panel TV swing-out arm-style wall mounts so that the speaker angle changes with the TV angle. An adjustable foot for shelf mounting is also included.
