Product description The EtherSound Card for Studer D21m System Rack from Digigram allows connecting the D21m I/O System to an EtherSound network. Designed to fit into system rack for use with the Studer OnAir 3000 console, but also compatible with Studer flagship Vista series and routing systems, the card allows 128 audio channels (64 inputs/64 outputs) to be connected to the D21m via a single Cat-5 connection. One of the advantages of EtherSound in the Broadcast domain is its extremely low latency. Configuration of the EtherSound network is performed either through the ETH CTRL connector or from a remote location on the EtherSound network, e.g. using the EtherSound EScontrol software. ES-100 and ES-Giga functionality allow for designing daisy chain or redundant ring topologies, with the latter allowing for the network to remain uninterrupted should a cable be broken. The audio clock of the EtherSound network must be synchronous with the D21m I/O system's audio clock. This is ensured either by using the EtherSound card as clock source of the EtherSound network, or by feeding the device that is actually the EtherSound network clock source with a word clock synchronous with the D21m I/O system's audio clock. - Interface card for the Studer D21m System Rack
