Product description The DPA Microphones 5100 is a versatile surround sound microphone, ideal for use in television production and other applications where high-quality audio is of utmost importance. The mic features 5 internal pressure transducers with omnidirectional pickup patterns to capture every sonic detail from your environment. The mic can be mounted on a camera or mic stand, suspended, or handheld via a hand grip. The compact and robust design also provides an excellent resistance to inclement weather.
The 5100 achieves proper channel separation and directionality with the use of proprietary DiPMic (Directional Pressure Microphone) technology, which mounts interference tubes on the left, center, and right capsules, as well as the use of acoustic baffles to increase level accuracy. Each mic transducer has a low sensitivity to wind noise, and offers a consistent frequency response with a wide dynamic range and low distortion.
The rear microphones are optimally spaced from the other capsules to simulate the most natural time arrival differences. The LFE channel is a left/right sum, which is then lowered by 10dB in comparison with the main channels. The 5100 has a multi-pin Lemo connector that provides discrete 5.1 analog output, so no processing is required. The included 16' Mogami breakout cable connects to the Lemo output and converts it into 6 Neutrik 3-pin XLR male connectors. - Lightweight and Rugged
- The compact design provides terrific portability, and allows the mic to be camera or stand mounted, suspended, or handheld with a grip. It is also resistant to inclement weather conditions
- True 5.1 Audio
- The microphone has 5 miniature pressure transducers with low sensitivity to wind noise, a consistent frequency response, large dynamic range, and low distortion
- DiPMic Technology
- Proprietary DiPMic technology achieves proper channel separation and directionality by mounting interference tubes on the left, center, and right capsules. Acoustic baffles preserve level accuracy
- Accurate Timing
- The 3 front mic capsules are time coincident to eliminate comb filtering when mixing down to stereo or mono. The rear mic capsules are properly spaced to simulate natural time arrival differences
- Summed LFE Channel
- The LFE channel is made from a left/right sum, and lowered by 10dB in comparison to the main channels
- 5.1 Analog Output
