Product description The Ambi-2 Illuminator CS from DSC Labs is a video camera test-transparency illumination system designed to provide optimal illumination for test patterns. This complete system consists of the Ambi Illuminator Head, the AmbiStand, the Ambi Lamp Bracket, the Ambi-2 Mirror, and a 500W quartz lamp fixture. The light from the external stand-mounted light source shines vertically into the Ambi Illuminator Head, where it is reflected into a color-corrected diffuser to illuminate the test pattern. This mechanism helps to achieve even light distribution. The de-polarized light emitted by the diffuser retains the same spectral characteristics as the original light source. By adjusting the reflector, the unit can also be illuminated from above or behind. If desired, the mirror assembly may be removed, and the quartz light, HMI, LED, or virtually any other light source can be beamed directly into the rear of the diffuser. This allows using mixed light sources. The AmbiStand holds the illuminator and has multidirectional locking wheels, which makes it convenient to wheel the setup between studios or engineering departments. The illuminator can also be set up on a desk/table or bench or hung from a studio grid. - Ambi-2 Illuminated Head The Ambi-2 Illuminated Head from DSC Labs is designed as a replacement part or spare for the head that is included with the Ambi-2 Illuminator unit.
The Ambi-2 Illuminator system lets you customize camera set-up to shooting conditions by alternating between quartz, HMI, fluorescent, daylight and other illuminants. Used with different lamp types, Ambi provides test transparency illumination that is precisely color-matched to the types of lighting a camera will encounter. Setting up a camera's color matrix to several different illuminants, and then using the appropriate stored matrix setting during a shoot, can dramatically improve the visual quality and consistency of your images. Correct use of this system can allow you to achieve superior results, precisely matching colors to the type of lighting you are using in your setup. - AmbiStand The AmbiStand from DSC Labs is a custom Manfrotto stand designed for use with the Ambi Illuminator video-camera test-transparency illumination system. Beyond serving as a free-standing base for the illuminator, the stand also includes casters to provide easy mobility for your entire Ambi Illuminator setup.
