Product description Stay safe and informed while flying with the XGPS190 Dual-Band ADS-B Receiver with WAAS GPS and AHRS from Dual Electronics. This device is a great companion for pilots. Featuring a dual-band (978 UAT/1090 ES MHz) ADS-B receiver, you'll get essential FIS-B weather and TIS-B traffic information. The XGPS190 also features WAAS GPS and AHRS artificial horizon for accurate aircraft positioning during flight. ADS-B, WAAS, and AHRS can all be used in conjunction with your favorite EFB app (available separately). The ADS-B receiver uses Bluetooth to connect to two Apple, Android, or Windows mobile devices, leaving Wi-Fi available for additional information such as flight plan updates, weather services, and more. Fully charged, the XGPS190 can last up to five hours of continuous operation, and can be charged in-flight via the included 12-30V DC adapter. A wall charger is also included for charging while on the ground. A removable ADS-B antenna is included, but you can hook up the receiver to the external antenna of your plane if desired. - FAA's ADS-B Weather and Traffic Information in the Cockpit
- ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast) provides weather and traffic information to all aircraft equipped with an ADS-B receiver, such as the XGPS190, subscription-free. The ADS-B weather and traffic data is displayed on a compatible EFB app (available separately) on an iPad, Android, or Windows tablet.
- ADS-B In Services
-
- Flight Information Service-Broadcast (FIS-B): Provides regional and continental NEXRAD radar imagery from the National Weather Service, as well as NOTAMs, METARs, TAFs, PIREPs, winds aloft, and other valuable in-flight weather services. FIS-B also includes information on temporary flight restrictions (TFR) and special use airspaces (SUA).
- Traffic Information Service-Broadcast (TIS-B): Information obtained from ATC radar and broadcast from ground radio stations. This information greatly enhances pilots' situational awareness and aids their visual orientation of nearby aircraft traffic.
- Nearby aircraft positions: The XGPS190 can receive position reports directly from nearby aircraft if they are operating ADS-B Out transponders on the 978 and/or 1090 MHz frequencies.
- Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS)
- The AHRS feature in the XGPS190 provides backup attitude information including roll, pitch, yaw, and magnetic heading to support the synthetic vision feature in EFB apps.
- Useful In and Out of the Plane
- At your destination, the XGPS190 becomes an ideal navigation assistant. Take it with you to the car, on a boat, or hiking. Set it for GPS-only mode for use with apps that require location information, including apps for car and marine navigation, golfing, geocaching, hiking, and many others (available separately).
- Wireless Bluetooth Connectivity to Two Devices
- The XGPS190 wirelessly sends GPS, AHRS, and ADS-B data via Bluetooth to up to two devices simultaneously. The XGPS190 can be positioned up to 30' away from the connected tablet or a smartphone.
- Bluetooth Advantage over Wi-Fi
- Because the XGPS190 uses Bluetooth, the Wi-Fi connection on your device is left free for other uses, such as connecting to the internet (for weather services, flight plan updates, etc.) or to another accessory. There are no hassles with switching between networks and no service interruptions when using Bluetooth connection.
- Setup is a Breeze
- It takes less than a minute to pair your mobile device with the XGPS190, and the receiver will remember your device and reconnect automatically the next time you turn it on.
- Adjustable LED Brightness
- The LED indicators on the receiver have adjustable brightness. Lower them while flying at night so as not to be distracting, and turn them back up during the day so they are more easily noticeable.
