Product description This tobacco brown burst Design Series 5.5 x 14" Snare Drum from DW features all chrome hardware, a North American maple shell, Remo Coated Control Sound batter head, and a clear snare side resonant head with tuning sequence numbering.
The Design Series snare features propeller-style turret lugs, 2.3mm triple flange hoops and a DW MAG snare throw-off system. True Pitch tuning rods give you more control over your sound by allowing for precision tuning as compared to standard 12/24 threads. - HVLT Grain Orientation
- Horizontal exterior and Vertical Low Timber grains create less tension on the shell and provides an overall lower note.
- DW MAG Snare Throw-Off System
- A purposefully simple design, the MAG is a workhorse drop throw-off with horizontal tension adjustment and smooth, easy-adjust action. It gets its name from a magnet that is integrated into the body of the throw-off. When the handle is in the up position, it won't release without a slight tug. When it does release, it throws the strainer completely off the head to avoid any strainer buzz.
- True-Pitch Tuning Rods
- These tuning rods feature 5mm threads rather than the 12/24 that is standard on most drums. To compare, there is 1 thread every 0.8mm on True-Pitch rods (about 20% more threads), versus 1 thread every 1.05mm on most other drums. The result is a more exacting tuning process.
