Product description The Ebtech 6-in-1 Cable Tester is used to display the exact wiring of any cable or adapter, and even allows you to test cables installed within building walls. The LED display is used for wiring and intermittent detection, an installed cable tester, a test tone generator, a phantom power detector, and a ground shield detector. This cable tester works on 2 AA batteries (sold separately). - Checks XLR, 1/4" (TS or TRS), RCA, 1/8" (TS or TRS), TT, and 3-pin MIDI cables and offers 5 other handy functions
- Displays information on intermittent connections until you reset it, and clearly shows where the problem is and what type of defect it is
- Wiring display shows how the cable is wired, as well as continuity, opens, and shorts for each pin
- Suitable for determining custom/adapter wirings such as XLR to 1/4" or 1/8" to dual RCA
- Shows if XLR Pin 1 (ground) is connected to the XLR housing (grounded shield)
- Diagnoses cables that are installed within building walls
- Test tone generator for producing a 1 kHz or 440 Hz tone at 4 dBu, -10 dBv, and mic levels
- Detects when a DC voltage of 5V or more is present on Pin 2 (tip) and/or Pin 3 (ring)
