Product description The Bass Metaphors Channel Strip and Overdrive Pedal from Electro-Harmonics is a multi-effect pedal for bass players which combines preamp, EQ, distortion, compression, and overdrive. The Bass Metaphors can be used for playing live, recording at a pro studio, or recording bass into a laptop. The unit is housed in a tough and compact die-cast chassis and comes with a 9.6 VDC-200BI power supply.
The parallel arrangement of the effects allows for finely-tuned control over each element. The preamp section is made up of three channels: Dry, EQ, and Distortion. Each channel has its own level control, appropriately labeled. The EQ channel has further controls, which adjust Bass and Treble independently. The Distortion channel is also footswitch-accessible, allowing the user to preset a sound to be cut in or out as needed. The Volume control functions as a master volume after the effects. In addition, a leveling compressor can be cut into the circuit before the output to add sustain, “punch”, or to even out your performance. This is controlled by the Squash setting of the toggle switch in the center of the case. Note: It is recommendable to use only the AC adapter supplied with the unit; using other AC adapters, even those made by Electro-Harmonix, could cause harm to the unit or the adapter.
