Product description The Flanger Hoax Phaser/Flanger Modulator from Electro-Harmonix is a modulation pedal with a variation of controls. The Blend knob mixes between the effect and the dry signal. The Feedback control includes a knob and a switch. The Feedback knob sets the amount of signal that is fed back into both phase shift circuits, and the switch has three positions: Wet, Off, and SWPT. The Flanger Hoax pedal features as well a Fixed/Bypass switch, the Swept/Bypass switch, and the Invert switch.
The Swept Phaser Control includes three knobs. The Amount knob controls the amount of modulation that sweeps the Swept Phaser. The Response knob determines how the Swept Phaser reacts to the modulation waveform. The Modulator Mode knob steps through the different phases of the modulation waveform. The Modulator control has two knobs. The Rate knob sets the frequency of the sine wave Modulator (0.07 Hz to 220 Hz). The Delay Mode knob selects between different phase shift combinations for the modulating waveform that sweeps the Fixed Phaser Delay line and the Swept Phaser Delay line.
The Fixed and Swept Phaser Sections are two independent phase shifter circuits, and have two knobs and three switches. The Fixed Phaser is set to a phase shift of 240°. The Swept Phaser varies from 240° to 990°. These two phase shift sections run parallel to each other. The output of each phase shifter goes into its own Delay line circuit. The Fixed and Swept Phaser blocks on the right side of the Flanger Hoax have similar controls, though the Swept Phaser has additional controls. The Delay Amount knobs control the amplitude of the sine wave that modulates the delay time (1 to 11 ms).
Connect your instrument or mixer's effects send output to the Flanger Hoax's input jack, and run a second cable from any or all of the three main outputs (Direct out, Blended out or Effect out).
