Product description A reissue of the original Sovtek unit with a few updated touches, the Electro-Harmonix MIG-50 is a 50W tube amplifier head intended for use with electric guitar. It sports two channels—one for normal gain, the other for high gain and bright tones—and delivers the powerful tone of the original, heralded amplifier with improved build quality in the jacks, potentiometers, and switches.
Each channel is accessible through its own separate 1/4" input, and once plugged in, you'll find the controls are relatively simple (volume, bass, middle, treble, and presence), allowing you to use your pedalboard for adding effects and textures. On the amp's back panel, you'll notice three 1/4" speaker outputs, each one suited specifically for four, eight, or 16 Ohm cabinets. Additionally, you'll find external bias controls on the rear of the amp, making calibrating tubes for the head much simpler. The MIG-50 is assembled by hand in the company's New York City factory. - Key Features at a Glance
