Product description Ernie Ball's Regular Slinky Flatwound Electric Bass Strings are intended for four-string electric basses. They feature a traditional hex core wire topped by a cobalt underwrap with an outer SuperBright cobalt ribbon wrap for a flat feel and punchier response than a traditional flatwound set.
The aim is to provide a flatwound feel with a roundwound sound, doing so using Ernie Ball's proprietary cobalt alloy, which offers a stronger magnetic relationship between your strings and your pickups. As such, they help facilitate an increased output level with a wider dynamic range than other Ernie Ball strings, as well as a boosted low end, clear and crisp highs, and an enhanced overall harmonic response.
