Product description The VXL2 Underwater Housing from Ewa-Marine is a waterproof enclosure that enables you to shoot beneath the surface with your Canon XL 2 or XL H1 Series HD Camcorder. It has a depth rating of 32.8'. Easy access to the viewfinder and virtually all camcorder controls is provided right through the clear, double-laminated PVC body.
The housing features an integrated, optically neutral, flat glass lens port with a front diameter of 3.0" / 75mm. The supplied CAF ring with 72mm filter thread adapter mounts onto lenses with 72mm filter thread diameters, fixing the front element of the lens to the interior of the port to hold the lens securely in place. Also supplied are CA 49, 52, 55, 58, and 62 mm adapter rings to fit lenses with those diameters. Corrosion-resistant clamping rails fit together for a waterproof seal and are tightened via knurled thumb screw knobs. Additionally, the pouch supplied with the housing allows weights to be added for ideal buoyancy underwater.
The VXL2 is supplied in a handy black and yellow carrying case with a waterproof interior and a zippered side pocket. Also provided is an initial supply of CD5 drying agent and enough foam padding to take up any empty space when shooting above water. Underwater, the water pressure will compress the housing, eliminating excess space. - Waterproofing
