Product description The ED127 T3 127mm f/7.5 Apo Triplet Essential Refractor Telescope from Explore Scientific features a relatively fast triplet apochromatic lens system with extra low-dispersion (ED) glass and Explore Scientific's proprietary anti-reflection EMD fully multi-coated optics. This combination of glass, lenses, and coatings virtually eliminates chromatic aberrations for clear and bright images without distortion across the entire field of view, with true color rendition and a resolution of just 0.9 arc seconds. This is a powerful optical tube assembly that can be used to see and photograph detailed views of celestial objects from the Moon to deep sky objects like nebulae and galaxies. It is also portable enough to be used as a grab-and-go option over larger and heavier scopes or set up on a dual-mount rig for astrophotography/astroimaging.This version of the Essential ED127 OTA is outfitted with a Starlight Instruments 3" rack-and-pinion dual speed focuser. Explore Scientific upgraded to this focuser to ensure full coverage of astrophotography gear with larger imaging sensors. The dual-speed configuration ensures ultra-precise focusing to properly split binary stars and resolve fine details single-speed focusers are unable to achieve. A mounting cradle-ring clamps over optical tube assembly (OTA) and allows the user to adjust the orientation and position of the scope relative to the mount to optimize viewing comfort and balance, while avoiding interference with other equipment. The scope is offered without a mount or tripod, but a Vixen-style dovetail plate makes it compatible with any alt-az or equatorial mount with a Vixen-style saddle. - Optical Performance
