Product description The 250GB DataShield AES Encrypted USB 3.0 SSD from Fantom is a portable storage drive with built-in 256-bit AES military grade hardware encryption, making it ideal for users and businesses who require data privacy. Because it uses a SSD, which is constructed without any moving parts, it can endure more and perform faster than a traditional hard drive. Should the drive be compromised, it will still keep the data stored safe from unauthorized access even if it's removed from the housing. For security reasons, the drive will automatically lock itself and go to sleep after ten minutes of inactivity. In order to access the drive again, you must re-enter the pass code, which can be up to twelve digits long. With a USB 3.0 interface that supports speeds of up to 5 Gbps, the Datashield will let you quickly access and transfer your files from devices. Furthermore, this drive is bus powered so no external power sources are needed, and is compatible with both Windows and Mac systems; however, please note that reformatting may be required.
