Product description The FEISOL QP-400 Quick Release Plate allows you to mount a long lens with support foot to a plate for use with FEISOL's UA-180 gimbal head. Mounting a heavy lens to relatively light camera requires the lens to be supported so as not to strain or damage the camera's lens mount. The QP-400 is designed to support lens/camera combinations with a 9.5 to 13.5" distance between tripod socket and center screw opening of the lens support foot. Once you mount lens and camera, you adjust the plate on the head to find the best balance and stability for your lens/camera combination.
The QP-400 includes the main support plate and two L-brackets that allow you the flexibility to support the lens and the camera at the same time. This protects the camera's lens mount from damage and can help reduce unwanted distortions to your images caused by vibrations or stress to the lens mount. The plate and L-brackets are machined from aluminum to be both strong and lightweight and feature a millimeter ruled index scale that aids in making balance adjustments. The plate is designed to be used with the FEISOL gimbal head, but it can also be used with available Arca-Swiss compatible release clamps.
