The Feiyu G6 Plus Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer is designed for compact cameras and lenses, such as the Sony a6500 with the Sony 16-50mm E-mount lens combination. One of the main features of the G6 Plus is that it allows for direct record start/stop triggering, zooming, and focusing with select cameras using the gimbal controls. Please see the Features section below for the list of cameras.
The G6 Plus allows you to pan, tilt, and roll for up to 12 hours on a single battery charge and to capture smooth, stable, cinematic-looking footage. On top of that, the ability to record/zoom/focus without having to touch the camera adds to the stability of your shot, provides a more fluid workflow, and also prevents having to rebalance the gimbal—as pressing the record button or other control on the camera often throws a gimbal off balance.
The initial setup for direct record/zoom/focus control is done by synchronizing the camera and gimbal via the Feiyu ON app for iOS and Android, which is available to you as a free download. The app also lets you make several settings adjustments and provides various other remote control functions. If you'll be mounting a smartphone on the gimbal (using an optional adapter), you can download the free Feiyu Vicool app which provides its own features and functions for smartphones.
The G6 Plus supports cameras up to 2.75" in height (a bigger camera might not clear the gimbal) and weighing up to 1.75 lb. It also comes with an action camera mounting adapter so you can attach your GoPro or other action cam. The G6 Plus is also splash-proof, giving you the flexibility to use it under certain conditions where it would otherwise be impossible to get your shot, such as rain. Please note that it isn't waterproof and cannot be used underwater nor exposed to salt water. Also, the splash-proof capability is affected during charging. - Key Features
