Product description Reclaiming the Blade is a tribute to the great sword and martial arts practitioners. Veteran swordsman and Hollywood choreographer Bob Anderson explores the history of sword play and how it has been integrated into the silver screen. He has trained such stars as Errol Flynn and Sean Connery in these arts. Searching through history, he shows how the Italian, German and Spanish modes of combat have influenced the making of film combat sequences. After all, it was Anderson who performed the Lightsaber duels with Mark Hamill in George Lucas' early Star Wars trilogy. This DVD is not an instruction manual for stage combat. It is more of a tribute to the history and development of combat styles. The film poignantly portrays the link between yesterday's history and tomorrow's future by reaching back in time to learn what they can from the ancient swordmasters. It is dedicated to the modern practitioners and academics who seek to preserve the ancient traditions. Table of Contents
