Product description Tailor the sound of your acoustic guitar with the Rare Earth Mic Blend Soundhole Pickup from Fishman. Combining a humbucking magnetic soundhole pickup with a condenser microphone, the Rare Earth Mic Blend delivers wide-range tone control, letting you adapt your guitar's sound to varying playing situations. An easily-accessible blend wheel enables you to quickly dial in the right blend of mic and pickup sound while you play.
The Rare Earth pickup delivers warm and full humbucking tone. The pickup's active electronics and neodymium magnet structure make for accurate string balance and acoustic clarity. Ergonomically shaped, the pickup fits soundholes as small as 3.6" in diameter and comes with a pre-wired output jack which can be mounted on your guitar's endpin.
The flexible cardioid condenser microphone has a bass switch for controlling its low-frequency response. You can adjust from full bass for mic-only or blended applications, to rolled-off bass for playing at higher volumes without falling prey to low-frequency feedback. In this last scenario, the magnetic pickup becomes the primary source of bass.
The Rare Earth Mic Blend runs on either two miniature 1.5V silver oxide batteries (included) or one 3V lithium-ion battery (available separately). Batteries mount on the underside of the pickup and deliver around 100 hours of playing between battery changes.
