Product description Go on your next mission using the FLIR BNVD-51 2HD 2nd-Generation Compact Dual-Tube Night Vision Binocular. The device detects (invisible to the naked eye) near-infrared images of your surroundings, people, and objects. The imagery has high enough resolution to allow you to identify individuals and fine artifacts at considerable distances. To provide this penetrating night vision capability, FLIR outfitted the device with two high-definition 2nd-generation image intensifier tubes (IITs) (one for each optical path) that generate high-resolution green images. The dual-tube (binocular) configuration also allows for better perception of depth, which can be a valuable asset in quickly changing hunting or tactical situations. This version of night vision devices offers users a manual gain control for adjusting image brightness and contrast, a bright light cutoff function for preventing tube overload and burnout, and an automatic off function for saving battery power when not in use. With the multi-coated 1x optical system you will see clear and sharp images and a wide 51° field of view. In addition to viewing distant targets, the opto-mechanics of allow you to focus as close as 0.8' away, which is helpful for reading maps or instructions without stowing the binocular. To improve the effectiveness of close-range visibility in very low light, this night vision device also has a built-in infrared LED illuminator with a fixed flood lens. With the help of internal electronics and in-view indicators, you can monitor the battery life and the infrared illumination's status. In order to adjust the optics to the features of your face and vision, the binocular also provides an adjustable diopter and interpupillary distance. Outfitted with a strong, lightweight, and water-resistant composite body, the BNVD-51 can accompany you on any of your missions and adventures. It is also slip-free, thanks to an ergonomic design. For comfort and ease of adjustments, the focusing and diopter rings are heavily knurled. The device is ready to use out of the box, as it ships with a battery and two headgear mounting adapters. Also included are two demist shields and two sacrificial windows to protect the external lenses from damage, and a soft carrying case for storage and transport.
