Product description An update to the encyclopedic resource that's been a classic since its original publication, this revised edition of The Technique of the Professional Make-Up Artist from Focal Press is a book for anyone aspiring to do make-up for stage or screen productions. Author Vincent Kehoe, a professional make-up artist himself, covers all of the current studio methods and lab techniques. Additionally, he includes text and art contributions from some of the leading experts in the industry, as well as information on many types of exciting visual effects. The book offers a clear explanation of the differing approaches to make-up application in various locations and lighting conditions. These scenarios include on-stage TV recordings with an audience, in-studio recordings with no audience, live TV with natural outdoor lighting, live stage productions, and films. He details the basic, day-to-day 'paint and powder' procedures that are the bulk of the make-up artist's work, of course, but he goes beyond these to describe the interesting visual effects that can be achieved via puppetry, digital computing, and electronic coloration. This edition of the book features revised make-up charts for men and women, adds new photographs of special effects make-up and new information on contact lenses and dental work. It also offers updated information on film types and contains revised appendices. - Table of Contents
