Product description The Formatt 127mm Soft Gold Enhancing 2 HD Filter will remove the unwanted 'blueness' from portraits, soften the image enough to be flattering but cause no distortion. It is intended to give a soft warm feel to any image and is particularly useful in removing facial blemishes. Its unique design enables the softening to be concentrated at a medium distance focal point, leaving the background unaffected. This filter is targeted for the HD shooter. Due to the sharpness of HD cameras and lenses, certain filters come in handy to assist in flattering your subject. Today's HD lenses are ultra sharp and often generate an image that is not as flattering to a subject as one might desire. This incredible technological breakthrough gives HD shooters the touch of softness they want but with no resulting loss of contrast or detail. Formatt, a company with three generations of professional filter-making experience produces every filter to the highest technical standards. The finest materials, together with state of-the-art production technology have resulted in a standard of optical excellence unmatched anywhere else. - Formatt filters are made from Schott-Desag B270 Crown Optical Glass - a high-quality glass that assures you of color consistency from filter to filter
- Soft gold enhancers use internal reflection to disperse light from the subject
- The use of specially developed gold platelets removes the harsh blue wavelengths from the image (yellow is the complimentary color to blue); They are suspended in a matrix which is tinted with a unique enhancer, adsorbing the harsh short wavelengths and transmitting the warmer, longer wavelengths; The light reflected from the platelets bounces back from the internal boundary layer and is refracted from its normal path
- The back reflection off the internal filter surface produces a diffused effect through refraction which softens the image at mid focal lengths
