Product description The 6.5 x 6.5" Low Contrast 1 Filter from Hitech provides a noticeable reduction in contrast across the image. Lower contrast results in greater shadow detail when properly exposed. This filter is ideal for use during midday and other high contrast lighting situations when it is difficult to control both overexposed highlights and underexposed shadows. There is a 1 stop density that aids in providing less contrast across the scene by allowing the use of longer, more controlled exposures.The Grade 1 Low Contrast Filter will help minimizes your highlight while opening up your shadows. This is achieved by the filter "stealing" light from the highlights and adding it to your shadows. This effect will help the overall lighting ratio of the shot by evening out the highlights and shadow areas. The Hitech filter system is made by Formatt - an English company that is renowned for its high manufacturing standards and consistency of quality. Their CR39 resin is manufactured in large sheets that are oven cured. Their exclusive Absorbing Cell Technology absorbs color as opposed to other filters that are coated. Once cured, they are sliced up to create individual filters. In this way, maximum consistency is maintained from filter to filter. This becomes crucial when you wish to change filters either mid shoot or from day to day. - Ideal for use during midday and other high contrast lighting situations when it is difficult to control both overexposed highlights and underexposed shadows
