Product description The Formatt Hitech 67x85mm Solid Neutral Density and Soft Edge Graduated Neutral Density Starter Filter Kit includes two filters, one if which is a solid neutral density filter and another of which is a graduated neutral density filter. A filter holder that accomodates these filters is also provided.
The Formatt Hitech 67x85mm Solid Neutral Density 0.6 Filter has a 4x filter factor that provides a 2 stop exposure reduction. Its 0.6 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field or convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.
The Formatt Hitech 67x85mm Graduated Neutral Density 0.6 Filter helps to darken specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a soft-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and the density provides up to a 4x filter factor with a 2-stop reduction in light from entering the lens.
Each filter in this kit is constructed from optical resin for clarity as well as color fidelity and measures 1.5mm thick. A carrying pouch is also included with this filter kit.
The Formatt Hitech 67mm Aluminum Modular Filter Holder permits you to use multiple filters depending on your needs in order to create the image you envision. It comes fully assembled to accept two 67mm-wide filters, but can be modified to accommodate fewer filters. This holder is constructed from aluminum-alloy for durability while remaining lightweight. A separately-available adapter ring is required for attaching the holder to the front of a lens. Once you decide upon the number of desired filter slots, included brass nuts can be used to secure everything into place. - 67mm Aluminum Modular Filter Holder The Hitech 67mm Aluminum Modular Filter Holder is a system that will permit you to use numerous filters depending on your needs in order to create the shot you envision. It comes fully assembled to accept two 67mm-wide filters, but can be modified to accommodate fewer filters, or an additional, separately-available polarizer.
This holder is constructed from durable, rigid aluminum for increased stability while still remaining lightweight. A front screw adapter ring is required for attachment directly to the front of the lens.
You can also modify the number of filter slots with your holder; once you decide upon the number of desired slots, included brass nuts can be used to secure everything in place. Additional spacers and screws are also available to further expand the system. - Requires front screw adapter for attaching directly to lens.

Half of the filter has 0.6 neutral density and the other half is clear, with a soft-edged transition between the two that is ideally suited for use with medium and wide-angle lenses or when there is an uneven, undulating horizon. By reducing the exposure in selective areas, you are able to balance the overall exposure of the scene in order to gain detail in both bright and dark areas.
This filter is constructed from lightweight, durable optical resin, which is also designed to maintain image clarity and not affect the overall color balance of the scene.
