Product description How to Use ND Filters: Tips, Tricks, and Special Effects Read More The Formatt Hitech Series 9 Combination Hot Mirror/ND 2.4 Glass Filter is a combination of both a hot mirror and a 2.4 neutral density filter. There is a 2.4 density for darkening of the entire image in order to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. Hot mirror filtration incorporates a dielectric mirror in order to filter out infrared light pollution that is common when photographing with a digital camera and neutral density filter. This situation is also naturally prevalent when photographing near strong sources of infrared, such as fires and at sunset. The hot mirror filter effectively cuts out infrared wavelengths but does not interfere with visible red wavelengths. The coating is also sandwiched between 2 layers of Schott glass in order to provide full protection and optical clarity.
This filter is compatible with the Series 9 filter adapter for use on a wide variety of lenses. The 2.4 density provides a 8-stop reduction in light from entering the lens. - Combination of both a hot mirror filter and a neutral density filter.
- 2.4 ND filter darkens the image, allowing you to photograph with a longer shutter speed or wider aperture than normally required.
