Product description The Formatt 6 x 4" Soft Effects 3 Clear Filter produces clean, predictable, repeatable distortion effects for HD (High Definition) and are manufactured using a revolutionary process that essentially creates an optical distortion throughout the filter. This clean distortion is the result of strategically placed optical lenslets within the filter surface which creates an even softening with the object and is quite pleasing to the eye. All Formatt filters are manufactured using water white Schott optical glass that is precision polished and ground to ensure absolute optical flatness and optimum performance. Each filter is guaranteed flatness to a maximum 2-wave value and comes with an individual reading from a laser interferometer. Note: Formatt Soft Effects Clear filters are available in strengths of 1/8 - 3 with 3 having the greatest effect - Specifically designed for use with High Definition filming, the Soft Effects filters will prove to be a useful tool for serious amateur and professional videographers
- The secret to Formatt's consistency in filter design lies in its unique "Absorbing Cell Technology" (A.C.T.); this unique process allows color correct dyes to be applied to optically pure, wafer thin absorbing cells and offers a controllability that ensures the smoothest grad lines and consistent color across the whole filter surface.
- This A.C.T. process is revolutionary compared with conventional filter dying techniques by eliminating the need to directly coat the glass surface itself; the repeatable performance gained through A.C.T. ensures that at any time you have to swap like filters for like filters mid shoot you can do so with confidence with no discernible differences in color or density.
- All Formatt filters are finished with a unique edge frame offering maximum protection against chipping, surface scratches and enables easy handling and cleaning
- With the filter description on top of the frame it also makes identification of the filter much easier especially when filters are stored in cases on location
