Product description The Fotospeed Cyanotype Kit gives you access to a process that was the first successful non-silver photographic print process, that dates back to 1842. It's notable blue image color is a result of its origins in Prussian Blue a derivative of iron. It has long been used commercially as "Blueprints." - Cyanotye is an alternative process exposed by Ultra Violet/Sunlight through use of contact negatives to produce a blue image on art paper of your choice
- Cyanotype is in a single solution, and is an updated version of the original process. Using Ammonium Ferric Oxalate to give a good blue that does not wash out, this solution is twice as sensitive to UV as the traditional version
- Development in water and citric acid can be used to manipulate contrast
- All images are made using the contact system, where the image depends on a negative of the appropriate size
- Each kit contains chemicals, paper, gloves, glass rods and other ancillary equipment necessary for each process. Note: requires contact frame or plexiglass (not included)
