Product description The B&H Binocular Buying Guide Read More The 10x40 Stedi-Eye Aviator Image-Stabilized Binocular from Fraser Optics is an advanced electro-optical device designed for long-range observations from unstable viewing platforms on the ground, in the air, or at sea. The Aviator uses gyro stabilization technology to correct up to 98% of image motion caused by hand tremor and platform motion. This technology is especially useful for law enforcement personnel and first responders observing from a marine vessel, moving vehicle, or helicopter. As the optical housing pitches and/or rolls, the gyro mechanism compensates for the motion by mechanically orienting the prisms in the opposite direction. This process of stabilization occurs in real time and corrects motion on the pitch and roll axes within 8°. All configurations of the Aviator series are built to the same construction standards as Fraser's military spec optics. The weatherproof and buoyant housing, fully multi-coated optics, and supplemental external power supply make the Aviator a full-featured binocular for first responders and tactical professionals. - Optical Performance
-
- Powerful 14x magnification is ideal for making detailed observations and identifications at long distances
- 40mm objectives ensure a compact and easy-to-hold form factor
- MgFI (magnesium-fluoride) fully multi-coated optics maximize light transmission, color fidelity, contrast, and sharpness
- Wide 64° apparent angle of view presents an immersive observational experience
- 241-foot field of view at 1000 yards
- Individual-focusing eyepieces ensure tack-sharp views regardless of individual eye prescription
- Image Stabilization
-
- Electronically controlled gyro-stabilization system reduces 98% of image motion to offset hand shake and motion to maintain steady views even on the water or in the air
- Intuitive activation touch pad with stabilization lock for constant stabilization without having to keep finger on pad
- ±8% stabilization freedom and 8°/sec scan rate, with 4.3 arcsecond daytime resolution
- Runs for up to 12 hours on two user-supplied AA batteries
- Capable of running on optional 6-30VDC external power supply with a built-in regulator to help maintain consistent performance
- Construction Details
